Do you mean 70s?  Because I have a favourite Powerpuff Girl.

I want to be Buttercup when I grow up.

Today’s dilema: On the left - the World’s Smoothest Pen. On the right - the Smoothest Pen in the Universe! Dammit. I am worse at making important choices than Rebecca Black.

I may have nightmares about this.

That is some bad-assed crocheting.

Happy Easter. Look what the Easter Bunny left in my hotel room yesterday, whilst I was out shopping, and spensing the day with relatives.

Two of these piggies have bedBODY! I just want to squeeze them. But the sign in the shop said no touching. Maybe the shoppers yesterday squeezed them, and now they have bedbody.

Urm, I always wanted to try knitting, and I.. kinda noticed that you.. knit. XD
No one I knew knit though.. with summer all year long, no one really bother to knit I guess.

So yea, urm, maybe you could enlighten me as to how I can start? I tried google before, but being able to talk to a person about it will be cool. =D

I’ve only been knitting for a little over a year, but I’ve crocheted for quite a while.  I taught myself from a book.  I started off with Debbie Stoller’s “Stich ‘N Bitch,” which has some funky patterns and clear explanations.  It also has lots of illustrations to help with figuring stuff out.  Then I moved onto Susan B. Anderson’s “Itty-Bitty Hats,” where I found some ADORABLE patterns for hats for my niece.

Since I’ve gotten really addicted to knitting, I’ve found lots of great tutorials and techniques on Youtube.  But these have been more useful to me when I’ve had an actual project in mind that I needed help with.

Probably my favourite resource is ravelry.com.  It’s like Facebook for knitters and crocheters.  Tons of free patterns, project ideas,  and forums for new and experienced crafters to share tips and ideas.

Ravelry has also helped me connect with local knitters who have been a great help when I just can’t figure something out. You have to sign up for ravelry, but I think if you’re interested in knitting, it’s a good idea.  And look me up when you’re there.  I’m Mindy-loo.
